In the momentum of the release of the documentary Beautiful People, which is about creative people scratching the surface of what they really are to the society around them, Nike has started a program encouraging youngsters to go out and learn about self-expression. A series of workshops shows kids trying sneaker design and skateboard graphics. many famous designers and artists from the movie participate in this program and the result is somewhat bittersweet. It seems great but the scale is not very encouraging from a brand like Nike, if you think about what Jamie Oliver did for British school food...and I wish I could see more emotion and stronger expressions. It did not really move me the way I wish it would have. But as I said, it is still pretty sweet!
